Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. Why can't I find and download an app in the Windows Store

Each computer module needs special software - a driver that interacts with the operating system and helps determine the hardware, and also indicates how to work with it. When installing a driver for Intel HD Graphics, users often encounter an error - " This system does not meet the minimum requirements". What is it and why does the problem occur, read about it later in the article.

Causes of an error with Intel HD Graphics

The problem can actually be caused by many reasons.

But most often:

  • the driver that the user is trying to install does not match the bitness of the operating system;
  • the software being installed has corrupted files or the system cannot unpack some of them;
  • the user is trying to install "varez" software on a licensed system.

There are a number of other reasons why you may encounter the message "This system does not meet the system requirements." Before proceeding with any methods to eliminate it, try closing all windows and programs and restarting your computer. Once enabled, try installing the driver for Intel HD Graphics again.

Bitness of the operating system

When searching for and downloading a video card driver from official sites, you must be extremely careful. Drivers are usually provided for all operating systems and bit depths to choose from. This means that if you have Windows 7 x64 installed, then when downloading the program package, you need to specify it, and you also need to specify the OS bit depth - 64 bits. If you download the driver for x32, you will most likely get a familiar error.

In order to find out the version of the operating system and its bitness:

  1. Press the WIN+PAUSE key combination.
  2. In the next window, pay attention to the block with information "Windows Edition". The version will be listed here.
  3. Below, in the "System" block, you can find data on bit depth. Armed with this information, you can go to the official website of the graphics card manufacturer and download the necessary driver for the system.

Corrupted Intel HD Graphics Driver Files

If you receive a message when you try to install a driver that your system does not meet the minimum requirements for Intel HD Graphics, the driver files may be corrupted. In this case, there is nothing left but to look for another source for downloading. But before that, you need to check the hard disk for errors, as well as download and install the 7-ZIP archiver.

Procedure:

The archiver is needed to open the archives of the driver installation package. If the archiver is not installed on the system, the installer will not be able to complete its task - to install the software. There are a large number of archive formats. The archiver may already be installed on the system, but it does not support the required format. 7-ZIP is able to open almost any format.

If an error with Intel HD Graphics about system requirements appeared on licensed Windows, then you may be trying to install a pirated or modified version of the driver.

In this case, try the following:

Thus, we will let the licensed system find the right driver on its own. After installing it, restart your computer.

Other methods to resolve the "This system does not meet the system requirements" error

An error with Intel HD Graphics may occur after trying to overclock the video card, increase its parameters. To fix it, try to return all changed parameters to their original position.

Sometimes the system does not find the integrated (built-in) video card and the user has to specify it in the BIOS settings on his own. Sometimes this solves a problem with system requirements.

Procedure:

We exit the BIOS and try to install the driver for the video card again. If you again see an error stating that the system does not meet the minimum requirements for the Intel HD Graphics - scan the system for viruses by running the full scan method.

How to resolve the error that appears during the installation of drivers on intel hd graphics - "This system does not meet the minimum requirements"?

When installing the intel hd graphics driver - "This system does not meet the minimum requirements"

An error message with the text "This system does not meet the minimum requirements for Intel HD Graphics" appears when a user tries to install drivers on their integrated graphics card in the Intel processor. The problem is usually well-defined, and in order to solve it, it is worth identifying a specific cause.

Why the error appears: the most common reasons

Most often, the system "swears" in such cases:

  1. Corrupted driver installation file.
  2. The user is trying to install unlicensed software with a “curve”.
  3. When downloading the file with the drivers (even from the official site), the wrong bit depth of the system was selected.

If one of these cases accurately describes the situation, the solution to the problem can be found below.

Pirated software

If the drivers were downloaded from a third-party resource, then the risk of an error is really high: the fact is that such products are usually digitally signed, which is monitored for compliance. Therefore, the system does not allow such software to pass through. Treatment - remove the third-party program and download the necessary files. Typically, such data is stored for many more years from the release of the card.

Bit depth

This option usually occurs for two reasons - ignorance or inattention. For the first ones, in short: Windows can have x64 and x32 bit depths (may be referred to as x86).

Finding the parameter is easy:

  • Right-click on the shortcut "My (this) computer" and select properties;
  • In the system data there is also a bit depth column:

Determine which Windows is installed 32 or 64 bit

After you, go to and download the driver for your operating system.

Download the intel hd graphics driver from the official website indicating the processor model and operating system version

Installing the Intel HD Graphics Driver from DriverPack Solution

DriverPack Solution is an online compilation of verified drivers from official websites. All you have to do is download the working file from and run it. Next, she will determine your devices and select the necessary drivers for them.

Download DriverPack Solution

To install only the Intel HD Graphics driver, in the DriverPack Solution window, click "Expert Mode" at the bottom and check the box for the Intel HD Graphics driver only.

Switching to expert mode

Check the intel hd graphics driver and install it

Other options

If all of the above did not help, perhaps:

  • There was an attempt to manually overclock the processor. All parameters will have to be returned to the original;
  • The user did not download the driver - Windows itself tried to update, a failure occurred. You need to try to download and install the software yourself according to the instructions above;
  • The computer is infected with viruses.

These tips will help most users. In case of failure, you can contact Intel technical support.

The best way to thank the author of the article is to repost to your page

Below are a few reasons that may prevent you from finding or install an app from the Windows Store:

  • The app is not available in your country or region. Although the app may be available in different countries or regions, the publisher may decide that the app will not be available in your country or region. This means that you can view a Web page that contains a description of the application, but when you try to download the application from the Windows Store, you will receive a message that the application is not available.
  • Applications can be hidden by settings. You can set preferences in the Store to make it easier to find apps in your preferred language or apps with accessibility features. When you enable these settings, apps that are incompatible with your preferences will be hidden when browsing or searching the Store.
  • Apps may be hidden due to the Family Safety setting associated with classification by age group. By using the appropriate Family Safety settings, parents can be sure that their child will not be able to install from Store applications inappropriate for his age.
  • The payment method associated with your account is not available in your country or region where you are located. To be able to buy apps from the Store in a specific country/region, the payment method you choose must be available in your country/region.
  • The app is no longer available in the Store. In some cases, the application may be removed from the Store. This means that you can view a Web page that contains a description of the application, but when you try to view applications in the Store, you will receive a message that the application is not available.
  • The app is not compatible with your device. Apps that aren't compatible with your computer are automatically hidden from the Windows Store to prevent installation of apps that won't work on your computer. This means that an app may appear on one computer but not be available in the Store on another computer.
  • Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements for the application. You cannot install applications if your computer does not meet its system requirements. To view the app's system requirements, go to the details section of the app's description page in the Store. If your computer meets the app's system requirements but you can't install it, make sure you're not signed in or the Store using a temporary or guest account.
  • The computer software was recently updated, but computer has not been restarted. If you recently installed Windows Updates, you must restart your computer to be able to install apps from the Store.

If, after checking all the possible reasons listed above, you cannot find or install apps, try cleaning on the computer Windows Store cache.

Note: The Windows Store will be opened after clearing the cache.

Microsoft continues to intensely delight, surprise and shock its users. Just the other day, a colleague contacted me with such a problem: he purchased and assembled a new PC based on the new Intel Core i3 7100 processor. The Windows 7 image was successfully installed on the assembled computer. But after a while, after Windows 7 downloaded and installed all updates through Windows Update, the system stopped receiving new updates with the following error:

Unsupported hardware

Your PC uses a processor that is designed for the latest version of Windows. Because the processor is not supported together with the Windows version that you are currently using, your system will miss important security updates.

Unsupported hardware

Your processor does not support this version of Windows, you will not be able to receive updates.

When trying to search for an update through Windows Update, an error appears:

The fact is, Microsoft announced last year that all owners of the latest processors should use only the latest version of the client platform - Windows 10. For older versions of Windows, restrictions will be created for using these processor models.

The restrictions apply to the following generations of processors:

  • 7th - generation of processors IntelCore(microarchitecture Kaby Lake, release began in 2017, among them: i3, i5 and i7: 7100, 7300, 7320, 7400, 7500, 7600, 7700, 7100T, 7101E, 7101TE, 7300T, 7350K, 7400T, 7500T, 7600K, 7600T, 7640X, 7700K, 7700T, 7740X, G3930, G3930T, G3950, G4560, G4560T, G4600, G4600T, G4620.)
  • Seventh generation of processors AMD(microarchitecture Bristol Ridge, release began in Q3 2016, among them: FX-9830P, FX-9800P, A12-9730P, A12-9700P, A10-9630P, A10-9600P, Pro A12-9800B, Pro A12-9830B, Pro A10-9730B , Pro A10-9700B, Pro A8-9630B, Pro A8-9600B, Pro A6-9500B.)
  • Qualcomm 8996(mostly used for mobile devices)

In April 2017, MSFT released special patches for previous OS versions.

  • KB4012218– for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2
  • KB4012219– for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2

The description of the patches states the appearance of the functionality of determining the generation of the processor and supported hardware when searching for updates via Windows Update.

Enabled detection of processor generation and hardware support when PC tries to scan or download updates through Windows Update.

Accordingly, after installing these updates, the system starts blocking the download of new updates (including for MS Office) and drivers on older versions of the OS with an error 80240037 , thereby forcing users to switch to Windows 10 /Windows Server 2016. Thus, all old systems with new hardware stop receiving security updates and become vulnerable. Looks like blackmail...

Of course, removing these updates (wusa.exe /quiet /uninstall /kb:4012218 /promptrestart or wusa.exe /quiet /uninstall /kb:4012219 /promptrestart) and blocking their installation will temporarily help, but with a high degree of probability they will arrive next month in the Monthly Rollup update (as part of the new cumulative update concept).

UPD:

When trying to install updates on windows 7, an error may appear: Your computer is equipped with a processor designed for the latest version of Windows. If you want to continue receiving updates, you must uninstall the following updates at the command line:

  • wusa /uninstall /kb:4015550
  • wusa /uninstall /kb:4019217
  • wusa /uninstall /kb:4019264

On the forums they write that update 4012218 is responsible for this error. But I didn’t have it. And the deletion under the number 4019264 helped.

Found more updates leading to the described problems - report in the comments.

UPD:

In some cases, windows stops updating and when you try to install updates, even manually, it gives various installation errors. When I try to uninstall the above updates, it says that there are no errors.

In this case
This is treated with a batch file that patches the CPU check: https://github.com/zeffy/kb4012218-19
Since the MS Update files are being patched, this patcher will have to be run after each cumulative update (since at least checksums are checked, and sometimes the files themselves are updated).

UPD2: Wufuc - Windows Update Recovery Patch

There is an unofficial workaround to remove the "Hardware not supported" message and restore the ability to receive and install security updates on Windows 7 and 8.1 computers with Intel Kaby Lake, AMD Ryzen, and other unsupported CPUs.

There is a version of Wufuc for both x86 and x64 systems.

According to information from Zeffy, the function of detecting the type of processor and preventing updates is in the library wuaueng.dll. Initially, the Wufuc patch replaced this file, but since this solution is unstable against updating the file with the next Windows Update, in subsequent releases of Wufuc, the logic of the patch has been changed.

Now the wuaueng.dll file is not actually replaced. The wufuc_setup_x64.msi installer registers a new scheduler job that starts wufuc when the computer boots. wufuc then injects itself into the service host process or wuauserv service and intercepts the call to the IsDeviceServiceable and IsCPUSupported functions, modifying the returned response.

Thus, the wufuc patch disables the "Hardware not supported" message in Windows Update, and allows you to continue installing updates on Windows 7 and 8.1 systems.

Unfortunately, driver problems happen on different versions of Windows and for different reasons. Users periodically see the error "This system does not meet the minimum requirements for Intel HD Graphics" in front of them. This happens at the stage of software installation on laptops, where the video card is built into the device's processor.

What causes an error in which the system does not meet the minimum requirements for Intel HD Graphics

The reasons for this problem can be different. Consider the most common:

  • At the stage of downloading the driver, an inappropriate bit depth of the file was selected;
  • The driver file is broken or has errors. This can happen when the user downloads them not from the official site;
  • The driver is a "repack" from the official version of the software. Such data may contain viruses;
  • Other problems with the operating system.

An error during driver installation has recently appeared on Windows 10. Often, developers at Microsoft make some changes in their updates that they forget to coordinate with the developers of computer modules and software. As a result, users suffer. We will also analyze this case in the article below.

How to download or update video card drivers

We need to talk about a utility that is available in many versions of Windows. It is able to independently find the necessary drivers for your devices and even install them. You can rely on it, because it scans only official and trusted sources.

To run the utility on any OS version:

Once the software is installed, all you have to do is customize the image. In some cases, the system also does this on its own.

If, after you have chosen to search for drivers in automatic mode, the system displays a message stating that they could not be found, we have to search manually. But it is very important to look for drivers only on official sites. Since there are only 2 manufacturers of video adapters, you only need to search on two sites.

  • To search for a driver from AMD (Radeon), go to this site - https://www.amd.com/en/support ;
  • To find the driver from nVIDIA, go to the following address - https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en .

At the same time, when downloading a driver from the official site, users make mistakes when choosing a file bit depth.

Selecting the bitness of the driver at boot

To make the right choice, you need to know which system is installed on your computer. Press WIN + PAUSE at the same time and pay attention to the "System Type" item. The bitness of the OS will be indicated here.

Bitness of the operating system

Checking the system for viruses

When you see a message that the system does not meet the minimum requirements for this software, it may indicate a virus on your computer. Try checking your PC using an additional antivirus or special utilities. Excellent virus scanners are Microsoft Safety Scanner and Dr.WEB CureIt!. All you need is to download and run one of the utilities.

Antivirus utilities and additional antivirus software can find viruses in game files or even programs you trust. But you should not ignore such findings, because it is known that viruses can disguise themselves as other files or processes. Therefore, everything that antiviruses have found must be removed from the computer. In any case, it will be possible to install the program or game again after the successful installation of the driver.

Sometimes when downloading drivers, internet connection failures can occur. Files may simply not be loaded. You need to uninstall this driver and download a new package from the graphics card manufacturer's website. But at the same time, try to ensure an uninterrupted connection to avoid errors during installation.

Fix driver problem in Windows 10

On Windows 10 operating systems, the error "This system does not meet the minimum requirements for Intel HD Graphics" may occur due to the feature of this OS to check the digital signatures of all device drivers. It may appear even if the driver was taken from official sources. This is a Microsoft bug that they promise to fix soon. We need to disable system signature verification. For this purpose, there are special utilities that deactivate the check. But their disadvantage is that while they are in the system, Windows will not verify driver signatures. But it is worth removing it, and the error will appear again.

We can do it in a different way. We need to open the Group Policy Editor. This method is only effective for Windows Profession. In other editions, it will not work to fix the error in this way.

After these settings, the error in your case should no longer appear. Check for yourself if it reappears.

Other Ways to Fix Intel Driver Error

If the methods described above did not help you, go to the website of the video adapter developer. Here you need to find the help section, where you can determine the compatibility of your video card and the installed operating system. If the error "This system does not meet the minimum requirements of Intel HD Graphics" occurred on a laptop, then it is best to find the driver for your video card on the official website of the developer of your device. But be careful. When downloading drivers for your device, always pay attention to the bitness of the software so that there are no installation errors. For you, this option is even more priority than the official website of the video card.

If possible, contact the store where you bought the device, usually they actively help users solve problems at the software level. Another reason for the software installation failure for your video adapter may be a modified system configuration for overclocking. If you tried to maximize the parameters of your computer, then you need to reset them to the initial value.

The system gives an error at the stage of comparing driver data and video card parameters. If they are higher than those written in the manual, you will see an error on the screen - the system does not meet the minimum requirements for the Intel HD Graphics device. You can lower the parameters through the same software through which you increased them.
